January 18th strip

I guess it has something to do with Dungeons and Dragons but I didn't really get the joke.
Can you explain please?

I don't think it's really so much a 'joke' as a gamer's mournful look back at the passing of a legend... a wistful yearning for the glory days of D&D, when it was awesome and full of potential: a harbor for all the people who needed an outlet for creativity and imagination. Not the sad, messed-up thing it has now become, full of endless flawed re-iterations of the core rulebooks, money-grabs, and bickering about the rules. It also seems to suggest a refuge for these poor gamers in the Pathfinder system. That's how I saw it, anyway.
I want my job description to be: "gets paid to draw sexy ladies." :D
