A dozen 'Sap' puns

I couldn't think of a single one. Maybe because I'm not a native and I don't know what a 'Sap' pun is.
So I want to see a dozen 'Sap' puns, or at least an explanation of what that is :P.

Heh heh. Well, basically, she's teasing about 'sap' as in tree sap, the 'blood' of trees, meeting 'sap' as in 'being a sap/being sappy' - extra sweet and sentimental, very emotional, etc.
It's a very sweet, emotional idea that Rissa is communicating (sap) and she's like a tree (sap). That would be the basis for possible puns.

Ah, so the word for tree blood is sap. (This is me being foreigner) Good to know. Thanks!

Ah, hehe, that explains it. What is it called in Chile, out of curiosity?

The word in spanish is 'savia'. If it's ever needed for a pun it has to be with 'sabia' wich is the femenine form for wise. But I doubt it :P.

MadCat, you should do a Spanish strip on some holiday celebrated by many Spanish speakers. It should have Rissa in it.

That would be pretty cool, actually! Any suggestions on what a good holiday would be?

(I'd have to have Yino and Dave help me with the translations, my Spanish is quite rusty and basic, as much as I wish I were fluent.)

If you need help with the translation that's no problem for me. About the date, I suggest October 12th, as it's a common holiday for Latin American Countries.

Cool! Thanks, Yino!

October 12th is an interesting day, according to Wikipedia:

* Christian Feast Day:
o Heribert of Cologne (private feast day)
o Wilfrid of York
o October 12 (Eastern Orthodox liturgics)
* Children's Day or Feast of Our Lady of Aparecida (Brazil)
* Discovery of America by Columbus-related observances:
o Descubrimiento de América (Mexico)
o Día de la Hispanidad or Fiesta Nacional de España (Spain)
o Día de la Raza, "Day of the Race" (Latin America)
o Día de la Resistencia Indígena, "Day of Indigenous Resistance" (Venezuela)
o Día de las Américas, "Day of the Americas" (Uruguay)
o Día de las Culturas, "Day of the Cultures" (Costa Rica)
o Discovery Day (the Bahamas)
* Freethought Day (United States)
* Independence Day, celebrates the independence of Equatorial Guinea from Spain in 1968.
* Mother's Day (Malawi)
* National Coming Out Day (United Kingdom)

The more you know... :mrgreen:

I'd mix Columbus Day with the GB's National Coming Out Day. Hilarity. :3 Like... say... Rissa is trying to explain this complicated sexuality/gender classification with her plant analogies and Xerise chimes in with a "Rissa, you're so smart!" but instead of "sabia" she says "savia".

Of course... this has nothing to do with Columbus Day and you'll think of something much better.
