Yes, I know. The French/Italian 2 vs. 1 standoff makes little sense in text.

France had a 2 on 1 attacking Tunisia from the Tyrrhenian Sea, and Italy had a 2 on 1 attacking the Tyrrhenian Sea from Tunisia. This isn't a traditional bounce as it isn't targeting the same province. I can't find the specific governing rule(s) in the rulebook, but here's my interpretation:

Now, rules state that units cannot directly exchange places, so that's out of the question. So it's either 1) both units are dislodged or 2) it's a bounce.

Another rule states that a dislodged unit has no effect on the province that dislodged it, so they can't dislodge each other, even though they did? The strictest interpretation is that both units have to retreat, but that makes little common sense. There's a fallacy here, without a specific rule governing this scenario.

In any case, the jDip adjudication program and the few Diplomacy forums I've managed to find on the topic are in consensus that it's a bounce, so we'll go with that.
