Kang brought up the legitimate concern that any number of preseason events could render players on current rosters unplayable, and that free agent pickups should be permitted.

I agree. Therefore, there shall be one manually executed waivers process (there is no automatic option to implement this) prior to the first game of the season.

If you wish to acquire a free agent(s), submit it via email to 'contact[at]direman.com' with the header WAIVERS or FREE AGENT ACQUISITION or the like. I will not view these emails until Wednesday, Sept. 4, the day before the NFL regular season kickoff. I will execute all waivers claims at this time in concordance with the standard waivers mechanics. Initial waivers priority is identical to our initial drafting positions.

Submit however many you like, but multiple acquisition attempts must be ordered by desired priority. All waiver claims must also be accompanied with a player drop in order to create roster room. No waiver claim will execute if there is no available roster space. If the claim is unsuccessful, that designated player will not be dropped.

Just in case owners aren't aware: waivers have cleared and all add/drops are good to go until they lock for game time.

I just ran into a gameday roster situation. Morgan Burnett was ruled as Out barely before kickoff of the afternoon games. I had problems plugging in a sub, because ESPN locked my bench. I wanted to drop Bernard Pierce, as I had no plans for him, but he was one of the locked players.

I contacted Joel and had him manually drop Bernard Pierce. We both agree that players should be droppable, particularly in such an emergency. If anyone has this same problem, contact either Joel or me to address it in a like manner.
