Gun Show

Joel did, in fact, take me to a gun show this weekend. I felt really out of place there, seeing as how I lean to the left of the political spectrum and this place was blatantly swinging to the right. I saw people snatching up the so called Obama Bucks, play money that depict Obama in a rather stereotyped fashion, with the denomination of the bills themselves ranging from Zero to Double Zero.

Despite the feeling of being a fish out of water, I have to admit that I enjoyed having a look at all the pretty "toys" they had on display. Joel was giddier than a kid in a candy store. He WAS a kid in a candy store. I find it hilarious that we ran across more than a few cute ladies that he completely missed because he was so focused on the guns. Stop that, Joel, I'm supposed to be the oblivious one.

Enjoy the strip.

[edit: Yes, "oblivious", not "obvious". Thanks, Joel.]

It's oblivious...

Oh well I guess ya can't be expected to spell this early in the morning? So yes; gun show this weekend, entertaining as always since I get to check out all the new ridiculousness that's come out since the last show. If you're a fan of shooting, hunting or anything dealing with guns you know that there's been a massive shortage on ammunition the last few months. Demand has out weighed supply by far since the Dems took office and such. This is the first show I've been to in the last 8 months where ammo wasn't sold out in the first hour of the show. Apparently the supply is finally catching up; or maybe the demand is dying down. Not sure which is right at this moment, but I don't really care since I finally got some target rounds.

I shall have to horse whip Dee sometime in the next few days. I'm supposed to have a column somewhere talking about this stuff... =p
