Which Is It?
Direman Press: Filthy furry lovers or anti-furry bigots? You be the judge.
When I was younger I would collect the Sonic the Hedgehog comics by Archie Comics. Silly as that sounds, I attribute no small amount of my ability to draw to those comics as I would try to doodle the characters I saw. The bunny girl in today's strip is one of the characters I would draw the most. What caught my eye was that her design had her with clearly cybernetic legs and left arm (hence her name, "Bunnie Rabbot"), and I always saw it as a fun little challenge to draw her without making her metal limbs look too out of place. Well, eventually the comic's artists made the job a little easier by giving her more "life-like" cybernetic appendages. After years of not picking up the books, I still remember her as being part of my first attempts at replicating toons I saw.
Brittany "Cheetah" Diggers from the comic Gold Digger was another character that I would try to draw early in my development as an illustrator. I stumbled upon her during a manga phase I had as a teen. While her creator, Fred Perry, is all-American, his style is strongly influenced by Japanese cartoon and comic styles, A.K.A. Anime and Manga respectively. Still, what really inspired me was the fact that the guy would work day in and out on multiple books with little free time for anything other than drawing in his quest to become a self-sufficient comic artist. Well, he succeeded and deserves every cent he receives. As for why I would draw Brittany... well... okay, I admit that I thought she was hawt...
Enjoy the strip.
