Homicidal Psycho Jungle Cat
Paul's still out sick, so I had the chance to do some more self-indulgent drawing. They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, so today's strip is my way of flattering the hell out of Bill Watterson.
Take a look at any "Calvin and Hobbes" comic and you'll see just how much life and energy he puts into every drawing. When Hobbes is ready to pounce, he looks like he means it. When he's in the air about to land on Calvin, you can easily follow the action right up to the moment of impact. When Calvin and Hobbes are scuffling, riding their radio flyer off a cliff, or playing Calvin Ball, the energy in their movement is almost tangible. Bill Watterson is a cartooning genius, and he gave us a gift in the form of a six-year-old boy and his tiger best friend.
